Important note for Afghan nationals

If you are an Afghan citizen who wishes to travel to Belgium/Luxemburg, you must apply for a visa through the Embassy of Belgium in Islamabad: Visas for Belgium and Luxembourg | Belgium in Pakistan

However, if you are a permanent resident in Iran, you can apply for a visa appointment through the Embassy of Belgium in Teheran. This is also possible if you wish to join a person who received international protection in Belgium (refugee status or subsidiary protection), provided that you stay legally in Iran (stay permit or visa).

If you are in such a situation, you are requested to send a mail to the Embassy (tehran.visa@diplobel.fed.be) and attach a scan of the supporting documents (either a valid Iranian permanent residency permit with translation, either an attestation confirming the Belgian protection status of the person to join and a valid Iranian visa or stay permit).

Outsourcing company VFS

A new appointment and visa application system was launched in August 2018; the Embassy of Belgium in Iran is now working with the outsourcing company VFS since 2 September 2018.

From this date, visa applications must be submitted to the VFS Visa Application Center located at the Heravi Shopping Center.

Before making an appointment with VFS Global Teheran to submit your visa request, be sure that your file is complete according to the list of required documents for the type of visa you wish to apply for.

Please consult the VFS website for more information.

Family members of EU citizens covered by Directive 2004/38/EC and of Swiss citizens are allowed to submit their visa application directly to the Embassy. In order to do so they should make an appointment by e-mail on the following e-mail address: tehran.visa@diplobel.fed.be
